TOWN COUNCIL TO CONSIDER PARKING TASK FORCE RECOMMENDATIONS Recommendations to optimize Vail's parking inventory for its core customers this winter will be reviewed by the Vail Town Council at its Sept. 16 meeting. The parking recommendations were developed by the Vail Parking Task Force following a series of discussions during the past four months and include an adjustment in parking rates to help increase the frequency of available spaces in the Vail Village and LionsHead parking garages to better accommodate the anticipated volume of shoppers, diners and skiers. Employees, residents and property owners in Vail would continue to be offered discounted parking, while additional efforts would be undertaken to promote mass transit and vanpooling to reduce the number of vehicles being driven into Vail. For more information, visit www.vailqov.com. Public input on the recommendations is encouraged. To forward comments in advance, call the Town Council's voice mail at 479-1860, ext. 8 or e-mail towncouncil(availqov.com.
