Ford Park Softball Fields
Demolition of Existing Restroom Building
March 18,2013
Scope of Work
Construction vehicle access to the site will be by way of the concrete recreation path located between
the Ford Park softball fields and the South Frontage Road. There will be no construction traffic allowed
on the softball fields. The recreation path will remain open to the public and traffic control signage and
flaggers will be required to protect public safety and facilitate turning movements on the South
Frontage Road. A traffic control plan and Town of Vail Right-of-Way permit is required.
Following the anticipated scope of work required:
1. Erect construction fencing to secure perimeter of working area.
2. Install Erosion Control devices.
3. Saw cut existing pavement(asphalt and concrete) a maximum of 8' outside the building roof
line.
4. Remove a maximum of 843 sf asphalt pavement and 240 sf of concrete pavement and dispose
of off site.
5. Disconnect existing electrical service to the panel entering building from the east and pull any
wire circuits existing building to the first fixture or junction box encountered.
6. Demolish existing wood frame and concrete masonry unit building structure and dispose of off
site.
7. Remove floor slab and entire building foundation and footer and dispose of off site.
8. Backfill excavation with 6" minus material and compact to 95%Standard Proctor Density.
9. Recut edge of pavement as needed to create a clean, straight line.
10. Prep subgrade with 4" class 6 road base and pour 3" concrete slab to match existing grades.
Tool or saw cut construction joints at approximately 10' centers and broom finish.
11. Clean up and remove construction fencing and erosion control devices.
