The adjacent areas, including the new restaurant expansion, are approximately 145,600 cubic feet. This is the area into which the 6000 cfm of tempered outside air being supplied to the restaurant expansion has to flow into. As we explained on your voice mail on Friday, the facility is severely negative and this additional air will only help pressurize the facility so as to avoid introducing cold air into the building when the exterior doors open. The existing restaurant area is conditioned and heated via AHU-7, which is located above the men's restroom located to the north of the restaurant. The heating and cooling coils are being replaced in this unit because they are so blocked up after 20+ years of service. AHU-7, which is capable of 100% outside air, is also interlocked with the kitchen hood exhaust fan and can operate so as to provide conditioned or heating air to the restaurant or can provide sufficient air quantities so as to condition the restaurant and provide air to the kitchen hood exhaust.
