General Information: This application is required for all proposals involving the addition of any floor area, including
net floor area and/or gross residential floor area (GRFA). This also includes proposals for'residential 250 additions'and
'interior conversions'. Applicable Vail Town Code sections can be found at www.vailgov.com under Vail Information —
Town Code Online. All projects requiring design review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit ap-
plication. An application for Design Review cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Commu-
nity Development Department, as outlined in the submittal requirements. The project may also need to be reviewed by
the Town Council and/or the Planning and Environmental Commission. Design review approval expires one year from
the date of approval, unless a building permit is issued and construction commences.

RE: ADDITION TO EXISTING RESIDENCE AT 146 FOREST ROAD, LOT 6,
BLOCK 7, VAIL VILLAGE FIRST FILING, VAIL, COLORADO.
Design Review Board members and Staff,
The Owner of the existing single-family residence (2 family residential—P/S zoning) at
146 Forest Road is proposing the Addition of a new main level study and upper level
master closet over an existing main level outdoor terrace/deck. The existing deck sits
above an existing lower level family room.
As proposed, the additions will add 178 sf(main) and 156 sf(upper) of GRFA to the
existing residence. This would add 334 sf to the existing 5485 sf for a total of 5822 sf.
This is 772 sf below the allowed 6594 sf of GRFA. Because both areas are located above
the existing lower level, there is no increase of site coverage or reduction in landscaping.
All existing Site Development Standards are maintained, and all materials, colors and
finishes will match existing. There is no existing exterior lighting at this location, and no
new lighting is being proposed.
