Dear Board Members:
In the interest of the project schedule and the impact of construction on neighboring properties we have continued to develop
the design of the above project. We respectfully request modifications to the May 28, 2013 DRB submittal be review at the
June 19, 2013 Design Review Board meeting. Please see the following modifications that have been made to the attached
drawings submitted for DRB review.
1. The skylight roof over the existing indoor pool was modified to match the size of the existing skylight. The Owners
would like to maximize the light in the space.
2. The height of the skylight has been raised at the north side and lowered on the south side to increase the pitch to
2:12.
3. The metal guardrails will match the design of those already existing on the front(North)side of the house.
4. The doors and windows have been moved to be inboard of the steel structure at the north and west side of the indoor
pool room to create a better more energy efficient thermal envelope as recommended by the thermal and moisture
protection consultant.
5. The existing planter at the west wall of the pool room exterior has been eliminated and the windows have been
extended to the floor level.Positive drainage will be incorporated into the surface of the patio.
6. The columns and headers at the pool room windows and doors have been wrapped in cut bluestone to create a frame
and support for the rubble stone veneer above.
