General Information: This application is required for all proposals involving the addition of any floor area, including net
floor area and/or gross residential floor area (GRFA). This also includes proposals for `residential 250 additions' and
`interior conversions'. Applicable Vail Town Code sections can be found at www.vailgov.com under Vail Information —
Town Code Online. All projects requiring design review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit
application. An application for Design Review cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the
Community Development Department, as outlined in the submittal requirements. The project may also need to be
reviewed by the Town Council and/or the Planning and Environmental Commission. Design review approval expires one
year from the date of approval, unless a building permit is issued and construction commences.

RE : ADDITION AND REMODEL AT 1776 W. GORE CREEK DRIVE (LOT 29,
VAIL VILLAGE WEST, FILING 1), VAIL, COLORADO.
Design Review Board and Staff:
The Owner of the existing single family residence (P/S—2 family zoning) at 1776 W.
Gore Creek Drive is proposing the addition of a main level window bay, and
replacement, redesign and enlargement of the existing main floor exterior deck and stairs.
As part of the new deck redesign, a new trash/storage enclosure will be incorporated.
As proposed, the window bay will add 14 +/- sf of GRFA to the residence (existing is
1360/allowed is 4242/proposed total is 1374). In addition to the new window bay, the
applicant is replacing 11 existing windows (original aluminum frame) with new metal
clad (white) code complying windows on the main and upper floor of the residence. A
new 9'x 12' concrete landing (96 +/- sf) will be placed at grade at the base of the new
stairs and trash/storage enclosure.
The new wood frame deck will have composite decking (drip thru) and the existing wood
railing design will be incorporated into the deck layout. Stains and finishes will be
maintained and refurbished. The new trash/storage enclosure will be trimmed to match
the railing design. A new wood column and cross beam will be added at the top of the
stairs with a new code complying light (see spec sheet) attached on the deck side above
the new stairs.
All existing site development standards are maintained, and all new materials, finishes
and colors will match existing.
