Dear Steven,
We understand that as part of this remodel a 1200 CFM kitchen exhaust and make-up air system
will be installed and that the mechanical contractors would like to heat the make-up air from the
boiler system. There are 2 existing Burnham P-208 boilers, each with an input of 232,000 btu/hr.
These boilers currently provide space and domestic water heating. We have calculated the
domestic water heating and kitchen make up air requirements and have estimated the heat loss
based on architectural drawings and other detailed heat loss calculations for this vintage of
construction.
It is our professional opinion that the 2 existing Burnham boilers have adequate capacity to
accommodate the new make-up air heating requirements.
