General Information: This application is required for all proposals involving minor changes to buildings and site
improvements, such as roofing, painting, window additions, landscaping, fences, retaining walls, etc. Applicable Vail

Re: Exterior Lighting and Entry Door Improvements
Design Review Board —
The Montaneros in Vail is seeking approval for minor exterior lighting and west entry door
improvements. The lights and entry door that are currently in place are damaged, worn and in need of
replacement prior to the winter season. Below is an overview of the both items.
Exterior Lighting Replacement:
- There are eight lights that will be replaced all with a style, color and size similar to existing
• Four hanging lights over the stairs leading down from the bus stop to the west entry
• Two sconces at the west entry
• Two sconces at the east entry in the pedestrian walkway area of Lionshead
- The new lights are part of the 2700 series from Mellissa Lighting. A cut sheet is attached.
Sizes were selected to match existing as closely as possible
• Hanging Lights: 2791
• West Entry: 2750586
• East Entry: 279076
- The colors will be black (metal) and opal (panels) to match existing.
West Entry Sliding Door:
- The west door is the only door to the lobby that is not an automatic entry.
- Due to width restrictions the door will be a "bi- parting" door that will have two smaller
panels that open to either side.
- All mechanics will be on the exterior of the building to meet egress codes and the trim will
be brown to match the exterior trim work.
- CAD drawing and description from Stanley included.
We believe these improvements will improve overall esthetics and ease of use for the building. If you
