Re: East Vail Fire Station Temporary Snowmelt
8/14/13
Dear Mr. Haeberle,
I write this letter to describe what R&H is proposing for the temporary snomelt solution at the East Vail
Fire Station. The existing garage has an unused hot water unit heater with 1” supply and return piping.
The unit heater will be cut out of the piping and connected to a heat exchanger. 5/8” tubing shall be
installed in approximately 190 square feet of temporary garage pan snomelting. The tubing shall then
be manifolded, filled with 50% glycol, and another 1” line shall pump supply water to and from the area
from the heat exchanger. The system shall be controlled by a 12 hour timer.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to give me a call to discuss.
Sincerely,
Brent Wilson – Principal Engineer
