OBSERVATIONS: 1. The roof framing is in-place and no problems were noted. 2. The snow fence has not been installed. 3. The south deck joists were ordered short; the repair is adequate. 4. The third floor transfer MC12x10.6 was moved to keep withing the roof; the reframing is adequate. 5. Work has started on the W30x99 installation in the basement. The bracket at the north column will be shortened to keep from hitting the north concrete. Locate the holes as close to column centerline as possible, allowing 1.25 inches minimum from hole to edge of plate. 6. The micropile engineering is underway. 7. There are 2 columns in the first floor space that need stiffeners at the base and cap plates per A/S4.2. End of report. OBSERVATIONS: 1. The concrete beam below the plaza level that was to be reinforced to carry the post at WC -W1 is in a different location than thought. New design and details need to be prepared. Sheet S4.3 is void, and no work should be done that is shown on this sheet, EXCEPT for the post installation shown on H/S4.3. 2. The steel post for WC -W1 has been fabricated and is on site. The connection can be made per H/S4.3 according to Carl. 3. The area below the concrete column at the northeast corner (in the cavity) will be opened up soon to confirm that the foundation bearing elements are drilled piers — see note 3 on S1.0. 4. The existing concrete column at C-3 was confirmed. 5. The exterior stucco is a multiple coat cement based system applied over a galvanized metal lath, applied directly to the exterior face of the studs with no sheathing. The stucco assembly is 5/8" thick. Exterior walls comprise the wind bracing for the building. The IBC allows this type of composition to be used for shear walls, but requires the thickness to be 7/8". We will need to discuss this with the building department, but we may need to increase the stucco thickness (if possible?). 6. Carl said that all of the upper level walls that are not stucco will have plywood sheathing installed to replace the exterior sheetrock currently installed. 700 17th Street Suite €900 Denver, CO 80202 1 303.575.951© 303,575.9515 0150 East Beaver Creek Blvd. y Unit 204A. Two of the PSL beams in the second floor at the west side may need to be moved to work with plumbing and window spacing. We are waiting for direction on this from the GC. 8. We received shop drawings for the 2 steel bent beams at the roof while on site. The welding inspector will inspect these beams in the shop on Wednesday, May 15t . 9. The existing 2nd floor steel beam on grid line 2 has a single top plate, and Carl plans to use face hangers to connect the new PSL beams at this steel beam. The HGU hangers specified are to be installed to wood blocking attached to the web of the steel beam. 10. Carl mentioned that the steel post at the right side of the entry into the art gallery on the south side was at an angle. I entered the art gallery, but the wall was replaced and I could not see this. There is an angled section of the stucco just below the floor that would indicate this condition. 11. The northeast dormer is framed out, with the shed beams, the ridge beam and the rafters roughed in. 12. Carl plans to work on the second floor on the west side next. LIST OF CURRENT FIELD CONFIRMATIONS REQUIRED 1. Second floor existing steel beam along grid line 2- a. Determine length(s) of beam and where and how spliced. b. Confirm support column locations and sizes per S1.1 2. Basement concrete beam geometry per SX1 attached. 3. Pipe column locations in VMD photos 3 and 7. Open up the cracked concrete in photo 3 location for observation. Clean debris from base of column in photo 7. Shoot new photos and send. End of report.
