BALANCING DEVICES, MAINTENANCE CLEARANCES, ETC.) ARE NOT SPECIFICALLY SHOWN.
DATA GIVEN ON THE DRAWINGS IS AS EXACT AS COULD BE SECURED. ABSOLUTE ACCURACY
IS NOT GUARANTEED AND THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN AND VERIFY EXACT LOCATIONS,

THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT THE SITE BEFORE SUBMITTING A BID TO BECOME
THOROUGHLY FAMILIAR WITH THE ACTUAL CONDITIONS OF THE PROJECT.
CERTAIN SYSTEMS REQUIRE ENGINEERING OF INSTALLATION DETAILS BY CONTRACTOR.
UNLESS FULLY DETAILED IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, SUCH ENGINEERI NO IS THE
EXCLUSIVE RESPONSIBILITY OFTHE CONTRACTOR.
IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO DETERMINE WHERE CLEARANCES ARE LIMITED,
AND WHERE INSTALLATION DRAWINGS OR SCHEMATICS, "CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS', OR
COORDINATION DRAWINGS MAY BE REQUIRED. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PREPARE ALL SUCH
COORDINATION DRAWINGS AS PART OF THE BASE CONTRACT. SUCH DRAWINGS MAYBE
SUBMITTED TO THE ARCHITECT OR OWNER FOR RECORD AND COMMENT (AT THE
CONTRACTOR'S OPTION).
NO EXTRAS WILL BE ALLOWED DUE TO LACK OF KNOWLEDGE OF EXISTING CONDITIONS.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT THE LOCAL BUILDING DEPARTMENT AND HEALTH
DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO STARTING WORK. CONFIRM LOCAL PRACTICE OF JURISDICTIONAL
AUTHORITIES BEFORE STARTING WORK NOTIFY OWNER IF ANY LOCAL PRACTICES WILL
RESULT IN A CHANGE TO CONTRACT PRICE BEFORE STARTING WORK.
PROVIDE ALL REQUIRED PERMITS. INSPECTIONS AND COORDINATION WITH GOVERNING
AUTHORITIES. INSTALLATION TO CONFORM WITH APPLICABLE PROVISIONS OF:
a) APPUCABLE LOGO(, STATE AND FEDERAL CODES, LAWS AND REGULATIONS.
b) REQUIREMENTS OF FIRE DEPARTMENT AND HEALTH DEPARTMENT SERVICING THE PROJECT.
C) INTERNATIONAL CODES (2009). INCLUDING VAIL AMENDMENTS TO THE CODE.
APPLICABLE PAMPHLETS OF THE NFPA INCLUDING THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE,
10) COORDINATE AND ADJUST ALL WORK BETWEEN TRADES AND EXISTING CONDITIONS IN ORDER
TO ACCOMPLISH A NEAT, INTEGRATED AND EFFICIENT INSTALLATION.

13) ELECTRICAL COORDINATION:

ORDERING ANY MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT REQUIRING ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS.
b) DEDICATED ELECTRICAL POWER SERVICE FOR FAN INCLUDING DISCONNECT, AND ALL
INTERLOCKS SHALL BE FIELD ENGINEERED AND INSTALLED PER NEC BY LICENSED
ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR (UNDER THIS DIVISIONS WORK). COORDINATE EXACT
REQUIREMENTS WITH OWNER.
14) SUPPORT OR SUSPEND EACH TRADE'S WORK SEPARATELY FROM THE STRUCTURE. DUCTWORK
SHALL BE HELD TIGHT TO STRUCTURE EXCEPT WHERE OTHERWISE SHOWN.
15) INSTALL ALL EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS IN ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURERS
RECOMMENDATIONS UNLESS SPECIFICALLY INDICATED OTHERWISE OR WHERE LOCAL CODES
OR REGULATIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE.
16) PROVIDE MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDED SERVICE CLEARANCE ALL AROUND ALL EQUIPMENT
REQUIRING SAME.
17) PROVIDE FOR SAFE CONDUCT OF THE WORK, CAREFUL REMOVAL AND DISPOSITION OF
MATERIALS AND PROTECTION OF PROPERTY WHICH IS TO REMAIN UNDISTURBED,
18) PROVIDE ACCESS DOORS FORALL EQUIPMENT, VALVES, CLEANOUTS, ACTUATORS AND
CONTROLS WHICH REQUIRE ACCESS FOR ADJUSTMENT OR SERVICING AND WHICHARE
LOCATED IN OTHERWISE INACCESSIBLE LOCATIONS.
19) INSTALLATION GUIDELINES:
a) ALL CURBS, WALL OPENING, ROOF JACKS, ROOF THIMBLES, ETC SHALL BE COMPATIBLE WITH
THE EXISTING WALL AND ROOFING SYSTEM. REFERENCE ARCHITECTURAL REVISION FOR
REQUIRED FLASHING DETAILS.
b) PIPE INSTALLATION:
i) ALL PIPING SHALL BE ADEQUATELY SUPPORTED FROM THE BUILDING STRUCTURE TO

A. Central Heating Plant
1. The boiler shall use Category 4 (solvent wed sch. 40 PVC piped combustion air and
flue; (routed to the north outside wall) similar to existing boilers.
2. The entire system will circulate 30% (by volume) inhibited propylene glycol.
a Provide a minimum 17 -gallon glycol feeder assembly with automatic pressure
control (injection) pump, and low water alarm. Feeder shag be equivalent to Axiom

the back bedroom (below the, exterior stair landing). This manifold shag serve the new
landing (and deck extension to the north) and new stairs. Extension of loop circuits for
this area will be installed in the spring of 2011 under a separate contract.

1. Heat exchanger: Equivalent to Triangle Tube TTP 7 -24 (250 MBH output): Snowmen
side: 50 %PG, 115 EWT, 15 rise @ 35 gpm (max 3.5 psi pressure drop).; Heating
water side: 30 %PG, 155° EWT, 20 drop @ 25 gpm (max 5.0 psi pressure drop).
H. Domestic Water Heat:
1. Provide "priority" control of domestic water, which re -sets primary supply water
temperature to 180 (adjustable) on a cat for domestic water heating. Secondary
healing bad pumps are allowed to operate, but snowmen system pumps are locked out.
2. Provide pressure and temperature compensating thermostatic mixing valve equivalent
to Symmons Terrptrd 5-400 (with HWC by- pass).

VI. THERMAL INSULATION
A. All insulation thicknesses and extent shall at least meet the minimum ASHRAE Standards,
ComCheck Model Energy Code and 2009 International Energy Conservation Code (and
Town amendments).
B. Piping and Equipment
1. Domestic Cold Water Pipe, Valves, and Flings (n mechanical room):

VII. TEST AND BALANCE
A Testing
1. Test all drain and waste fires with standing water test of twelve feet of head, held long
Enough to inspect each joint.
2. Test all water piping, before connecting to units, at 150 psig hydrostatic pressure.
3. All tests required by code must be done before covering to the satisfaction of the local
authorities having jurisdiction.
B. Balanang
1. At the completion of the installation, the mechanical systems shag be adjusted and
balanced by an independent balancing film specializing in this work
2. Furnish and install such items as thermometer wells, pressure test cocks. access doors,
etc., as required to allow tests and adjustments to be made.
3. Adjust and balance all air and water systems. Check, adjust and balance all systems to
meet the design conditions, and tabulate all information on acceptable forms. All
systems shall be checked for proper performance during design conditions, both
heating and coding.
4. Provide factory start-up and combustion analysis reports for boilers.
