Just a few thoughts that came to mind after the last meeting .
I guess I have talked enough about my contribution to the Town as a
developer. I think I have given a lugher percentage of my projects to the
Town than any other developer.
I think it is a shame to arbitrarily apply the Master Plan and Zoning
Ordinance one way to me and another to Luc Meyer and the Alpenrose .
We have tried very hard over the years to generate some income out of the
spaces we like to convert. Most of the time not very successfully. That ' s
why we donated the space to the Fanner' s Market for several years . That is a
good use as far as Mark is concerned, but it doe� not pay for t�es or
common area assessments .
Most of the potential tenants turned us down ( including office use) because
of the lack of public parking. I assume that lawyers hairdressers etc . think
they have to be able to provide on site parking for their customers .
When people walk away from a 25 . 00 a square foot rent I think we can all
agree that this is NOT Prime Commercial .
I think the Town would receive more benefits from the proposed change of
use, since the Chedrauis are always around and they do not dine at
McDonalds .
We have already hired a contractor to connect the parking garages and as it
stands with the hotels bankniptcy this is another $ 75 ,000 to $ 80,000 dollar
expense we have to absorb .
Hope you have a chance to give the proposal another thought .
