Project Description:
This proposal is for the pilot installation of a community-wide public information system. A manufactured
free-standing kiosk system has been selected to provide information to the public through printed and computer driven, web-based media. Information provided will include comprehensive
business directories for the Vail Village and Lionshead commercial core areas, real-time information on road, weather, and snow conditions, and interactive community and business related
content.
Material:
Proposed structure is a Cornerstone Kiosk manufactured by Great South Bay Sign Company. The material is molded expanded polystyrene fast cure urethane, impact resistant,
hard coat finish. Finished surface is 100% aggregated acrylic. Weight of structure is 500 pounds. Kiosks are internally anchored via stainless steel cable to mounted steel base plate.
Dimensions:
Standard Kiosk dimensions are 36” X 36” X 86”. A larger size is available.
Color:
A wide range of colors, Benjamin Moore Historical line, are available from the manufacturer. The
material sample color and the presentation images are color HC-85, Fairview Taupe. Alternate color choices are HC-77, Alexandria Beige and HC-69, Whitall Brown.
Display Panels:
There
are 4 display panels, of varying sizes on kiosk. Panels with printed media will be housed in an anodized aluminum case and will be back lighted for night time visibility. All panels
will include the “Vail Information” header. 34” panels will include the round Vail logo beneath the panel opening. Panel descriptions are as follows.
A) Vail Village Business Directory.
57” X 24” format, printed media, updated twice per year.
B) LionsHead Business Directory. 57” X 24” format, printed media, updated twice per year.
C) “What’s Happening” community
activities, promotions, and marketing information. 34” X 24” format, printed media, updated twice per year.
D) Interactive Media Display. 34” X 24” format, 2 computer driven monitors
one with scrolling community information, and one touch-screen with a variety of content available to users.
