A request for a final review of a variance, from Section 12-6C-6, Setbacks, Vail Town Code, to allow for the construction of a new garage, located at 1626 Vail Valley Drive (Golf Terrace)/Lot 2, Warren Pulis Subdivision, and setting forth details in regard thereto. (PEC07-0056) Applicant: Donald W. Diones, represented by Aker Architects Planner: Bill Gibson ACTION: Approved with condition(s) MOTION: Pierce SECOND: Kurz VOTE: 4-0-0 CONDITION(S): 1) This approval shall be contingent upon the applicant obtaining Town of Vail approval of the design review application associated with this variance request. Commissioner Viele disclosed a personal relationship he has with the applicant, but stated he felt he could act impartially in reviewing the request. Bill Gibson gave a presentation per the staff memorandum. There was no public comment. The Commissioners expressed the support for the proposal as it was a unique circumstance and complied with the criteria for granting a variance. 2. A request for a work session for review of conditional use permits, pursuant to Section 12-7H-3, Permitted and Conditional Uses, First Floor on Street Level, Vail Town Code, to allow for attached accommodation units, lodge dwelling units, and multiple-family residential units on the first floor, and pursuant to Section 12-7H-5, Conditional Uses: Generally (On All Levels Of A Building Or Outside Of A Building), Vail Town Code, to allow for the development of a private parking lot, located at 701 and 705 West Lionshead Circle and Lionshead Inn Annex (Fogata)/Lot 1, Block 2, Vail Lionshead Filing 3, and setting forth details in regard thereto. A request for a final recommendation to the Vail Town Council for a zone district boundary amendment, pursuant to 12-3-7, Amendments, Vail Town Code, to allow for a rezoning from Arterial Business District to Lionshead Mixed Use 2, located at 953 and 1031 South Frontage Road (a complete legal description is available for inspection at the Town of Vail Community Development Department), and setting forth Details in regard thereto. Information Update Staff informed the Commission that the process for finding candidates to replace the vacant seat were in process. The interviews and selection will occur with Town Council on September 18th. 8.
