RE: Flue Chase Application Review
Application: Venting of the PT399 Nat Gas boiler in a "conditioned" space.
The following comments and approval are based on the proposed flue chase sketch received
in an e-mail from R&R Heating on Wednesday September 18, 2013.
• Proposed chase as shown is constructed to meet the criteria of a heated/conditioned
space similar to the garage below it where the boiler is installed.
• The lower portion of that chase is open to the heated/conditioned garage as to allow
warm air to flow in and around the entire chase.
• The top of the chase is constructed to be closed, insulated and suitable to receive an
appropriate vent flashing.
• This assembly as proposed should keep the condensed products of combustion in the
flue/vent pipe from freezing.
All other conditions and restrictions noted in our Prestige Solo Boiler Installation and
Maintenance Manual dated 06/10/13, as well as our PVC/CPVC/PP & SS Vent Supplement
dated 05/09/13 apply.
