Allow me to explain the calculations and reason for a balance of$714.95. The original submittal is valued at $15,950 and states total electrical square footage of 4,181. A mechanical revision received on July 26 adds $12,475 in valuation, total project valuation to date is $28,425. It appears fees did not calculate correctly as such the remaining balance to be paid is $714.95. I've highlighted the corrected items on the chart below. There is an added cost for investigation fees of$853.25 for working without an issued permit. Had this not occurred your permit cost would have been $2,079.36. Town of Vail � Schedule of Permit Fees �wxo�v� � The Plan Review Fee is required to be paid at submittal. The balance of the Permit Fees are collected upon issuance of the permit. Instructions for calculating permit fees(see page 4 for alarm and sprinkler permits) 1. Determine the valuation (labor& materials) 2. Using the total permit valuation, calculate the Permit Fee using the tables below . 3. Calculate the Plan Review Fee (% of the permit fee for the appropriate work type: building, mechanical, etc.) 4. Calculate the Construction Use tax(see formula betow) 5. Calculate the Recreation Fees (building permits adding new square footage only) 6. Add $5.00 for Will Call Inspection* ($5.00 per work type i.e. building, electrical and mechanical = $15.00) An example is provided at the bottom of the Permit Fees section on page 2. *Will Call Inspection: When calling for your inspection leave the best contact name and number. The inspector will call you at least 15 minutes prior to arriving at your site. They are subject to review and adjustment annually. Fees are based on eitherRESIDENTIAL or ALL OTHER FEES. Do not use both categories to determine your fees. Please note the Town of Vail still requests you list the valua- tion of work on RESIDENTIAL permits as we report on this data. The State of Colorado allows local jurisdictions to charge up to 15% above their mandated fees as listed below. Inspections: Permit fees include NVO inspections only. For ALL additional inspections, including re-inspection for cor- . rections issued by the electrical inspector, a $57.50 fee is required. This fee must be paid before any additional inspec- tions will be performed. Plan Review Fee: A plan review fee will be added to the total cost of the permit in the amount of 65% of the permit fee. Construction Use Tax: See formula listed on page 1 in the Building Permit Fees section. Construction use tax will be applied to any electrical permit with a valuation exceeding $10,000 where there is NO building work. Will Call: $5.00 applied to every electrical permit. When calling for your inspection, simply state that you would like "Will Call"and leave the best contact name and number. The inspector will call you on his or her way to your site.
