This approach does not require that the original portion of the building meet code requirements. • If the building with the addition complies with the code, the addition will also comply, regardless of whether the addition complies alone. For example, a sunroom that does not comply with the code is added to a house. If the entire house (with the sunroom) complies, the addition also complies. • Additions less than 500 ft2 (46.5 m2) of conditioned floor area may meet the prescriptive envelope requirements in Tablet. To use this table, the total area of windows, doors, and skylights cannot exceed 40% of the gross wall and roof area of the addition. Table 1. Peterman tlsbestosTesting, Project Design, and Consulting Telemark Town House Unit 918 Vail, CO. Town of Vail OFFICE UNIT RENOVATION AREA DESCRIPTION: Telemark Town House Unit 418 is planned for selective renovation. The interior walls are covered in sheetrock with a texture applied to it. The ceilings are covered in sheetrock like the walls, and the floors are covered in ceramic floor tiles, and carpet. CONCLUSIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS: Laboratory analysis, of the composite sheetrock samples, indicate that Asbestos was detected in the sheetrock mud Iayer. However, the Asbestos content is less than the Regulatory Limit (Greater than 1%Asbestos). The Asbestos content was verified by the required Point Count Analysis. 4 5•d dit = 10 BO La' unr A A & D Asbestos Testing and Consulting John R. Peterman Asbestos Testing, Project Design, and Consulting INTRODUCTION: On June 16th, 2008 an inspection/survey was conducted and 3 bulk samples were collected from the: Telemark Town House Unit #18 Vail, CO. The purpose of the inspection/survey was to locate and sample suspected Asbestos containing materials that may be present in the area of the Units that are planned for selective renovation. The inspection was made, and the samples were collected by John R_ Peterman, an A.H.E.R.A. and State of Colorado Certified Asbestos Inspector. Great care was taken during the inspection and sampling to be as accurate as possible. It should be noted that minimal damage was done to the existing building structures during the inspection so there is no documentation for unseen conditions or stored items. All samples were analyzed by DCM Science Lab in Wheatridge, CO. This laboratory is deemed "Proficient" in the E.P.A.Quality Assurance(QA) program for the determination of asbestos in bulk materials, and is accredited by the American Hygiene Association (AHA). SAMPLING PROTOCOL: A random sampling scheme was used to sample the suspect materials that were discovered. If during any future demolition or renovation work, suspect material is discovered that hasn't been sampled and would be disturbed, work should be halted until the material has been tested. 3 I y -, d01 :10 80 GZ unr' A & D Asbestos Testing and Consulting John R.
