Pians do not include any work inside the home. Remodel of the den has been deleted from the scope of work. Because of the low clearance for the existing and new deck, the rim is designed to carry the load. I'm extending a double 2X6 over each pier to support the outside rim. I've added a continuous 2X6 at the existing double 2X8 for additional support and hQVe asked the contractor to uncover and verify the condition of the existing rim. The 12" diameter concrete foundation pier is governed by bearing.
