Boiler Plant Sizing
We have completed our heat loss calculations for the home and sized the boiler and flue.
This is an existing structure that will receive a new heating plant and domestic water
storage tank.
The heat loss for the home is 19,920 Btuh. The boiler will be a high efficiency Buderus
boiler equipped for sidewall venting. The cut sheet on the boiler is enclosed showing
clearances and technical data. The sea level input of the boiler is approximately 74,000
Btuh input based on 84 % efficiency. This boiler will also serve a 50 gallon storage tank
for domestic hot water.
There will be two zones of baseboard heat in the home with appro�rimately 3o linear feet
of high output residential baseboard (740 Btuh/ft. at 180 F average boiler water
temperature).
