Loads used in design are as follows: —Deck LL = 75 psf (Snow) —Hot Tub DL = 105 psf —Floor LL = 40 psf —Wind pressure based on 90 mph, 3 sec gust, Exposure B — Sei'smi'c Design Category C 2. This design was prepared using the Hot Tub manufacturers specifications. Hot Tub brand and model given by property owner. Hot Tub assumed to be the 'Bengal" model hot tub as produced by Tiger River Spas. Footprint of hot tub Is assumed to be 7' -2" x 6, -7" with a height of JJ" The filled dead weight of the hot tub is 4204 lbs. Pressure given by manufacturer is 105 lb%sq. ft J. SG "s scope of work is limited to structural analysis and design of deck system to ensure adequate support of full loaded hot tub. The property owner shall consult with an architect, local building department, Homeowners Association, or rather architectural code professional to ensure code conformance for railing heights around hot tub. 4. The design was prepared using an assumed maximum soil bearing pressure of 2000 psf and on assumed equivalent fluid pressure of 45 pcf• The soils are assumed to be uniform and non — expansive. It is strongly recommended that values be verified with a site — specific soils investigation by a geotechnical engineer at time of construction. Footings shall bear on undisturbed native soils a minimum of 48" below'-adjacent finished grade. 5. Concrete shall reach a minimum compressive strength of 3500 psi in 28 days. All exterior slabs and walls shall have a minimum of 57' entrained air. Reinforcing shall be conformance with AST" A615, Grade 60. All reinforcing shall be secured in place prior to concrete placement. Horizontal reinforcing in walls and footings shall be made continuous around corners by 1" bars, or by shop bending. Lap splices shall be a minimum of 36 bar diameters. Reinforcement shall be made continuous through all wall construction joints and steps. All slabs —on —grade shall be provided with sawcut control joints I" deep at 15 ft on center each way, or poured with 1.5 lbs /cu. yd. Fibermesh in the mix. It is the responsibility of the owner / contractor to coordinate all embeds, penetrations, openings and to verify all plan dimensions prier to forming and placing concrete. Insulated concrete forms (ICF) shalt be installed in accordance with the Advance Foam Plastics engineered wall system manufacturer. 6. All wood columns beams and joists to be pressure treated and connected in accordance with IRC unless noted otherwise. Pressure treated materials shall be Southern Pine J1 or better Headers shall be (3) 2x8 unless noted otherwise. Columns shall be (2) 2x6 unless noted otherwise. Column sizes are designated on plan at highest point and remain that size unless noted otherwise. Wood columns shall be extended to beams or foundations as shown on plan, or stud blocking the same size as the column installed tight in the joist space under the column. Hanger —type connections shall be made with Simpson Strong—Tie connectors and manufacturer— supplied fasteners or equal. Provide full depth blocking at all supports for joists and rafters. Provide Simpson H2.5 or H2.5A clips at all rafters at bearing locations. 7 Di'mensi'ons are to edge of framing or concrete, unless noted otherwise. All discrepancies shall be brought to the attention of the Engineer and Owner prior to construction. 8. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to coordinate construction with all equipment and utili'ti'es, and verify sizes and locations before construction. 9. STABILITY DURING ERECTION. • Framing is not stable until all framing, connections, floors, and roofs have been installed and connected in accordance with these plans and the 2003 IRr✓ It is the responsibility of the contractor to provide temporary bracing to stabilize framing until the structure is complete.
