Agenda / Discussion: As an introduction, Mr. Ruther explained that the Town of Vail Town Council has asked that Town of Vail land be restored to its original state & sought to provide a consistent approach to maintaining Town of Vail lands & subsequent riparian areas. Mr. Ruther stated that the Town Council had the Town install 60 - 75 signs throughout Vail along the creek & have asked that the Town take a zero tolerance policy regarding both signage & mowing of the Town of Vail's property, which must cease & remain "native" in order to avoid case by case negotiations. Per Mr. Carey The Gore Creek Place Board of Directors 1. Does not feel that the riparian area in question is as significant / important to The Town of Vail as it is to the owners at Gore Creek Place, as children & pets play in this area & it is visible from their homes. Mr. Carey was hoping that a trade off could be made to allow the HOA to maintain the riparian area 2. Does not like the existing free standing signage which is visually obtrusive 3. Would prefer fewer stone markers be required (they propose four vs. eight) 4. Would prefer that the stone markers be recessed & flush with the grass vs. raised to mitigate trip hazard. While Bill with The Town of Vail initially proposed eight signs George & Kristen with The Town of Vail are agreeable to four recessed stone markers evenly spaced along the center of the property & two free standing signs, one at each end (i.er. near GCO1 & GC 16) The grass can not be allowed to grow over the stone markers. All present agree that: 1. Four recessed stone markers will be installed, in concrete so that they don't move, with the edge of the sign at the edge of the property line, flush with the ground (not raised), in place of the existing free standing signage with the wording facing onto the Town of Vail's property (To be installed / paid for at the expense of the Gore Creek Place Homeowner's Association) 2. The existing free standing signage near GCO1 & GC16 will be moved (by The Town of Vail) out closer to the bike path with GCO1's moved West, tucked from direct view from GCO1, & GC16's sign to be placed between GC 16 & the neighboring Antlers property. If this can not be accomplished in December due to weather conditions the sign itself will be removed from the post to minimize visual impact to GCO1 & GC 16 owners) 3. Replacement stone markers will be installed immediately should weather permit, however should weather be a factor approval is granted through Spring, 2014. 4. No mowing, or any other lawn maintenance, will occur on town -owned stream tract land by the Association or its agents. Adjournment: There being no further business, the meeting was thus adjourned at 11:20 a.m. MST.
