Re: Solar Mounting System for Pitched Rooftops with Lumos LSXRaiI, Splice, and Lumos LSX
Modules with snow loads greater than 30 pounds per square foot
To Whom It May Concern:
Anchor Engineering, Inc. has reviewed the Lumos LSXRaiI and Splice for the design assumptions outlined
below and we have concluded that the Lumos LSXRaiI and Splice mounting system is in compliance with
the following codes/standards:
1.ASCE 7-OS —Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures, by ASCE/SEI,2005.
2.2006 International Building Code, by International Code Council, Inc.,2006.
r 3.2009 International Building Code, by International Code Council,Inc.,2009.
4. Aluminum Design Manual: Specifications and Guidelines for Aluminum Structures, by The Aluminum
Association, Washington, D.C.,2010.
Design Assumptions:
• Snow load of no more than 110 psf(pounds per square foot).
• Wind load of no more than 130 mph (miles per hour)
• Exposure Category A, B, or C as defined by ASCE 7-05.
• Maximum mean roof height of no more than 30'-0"as defined by ASCE 7-05.
Least horizontal building dimension of no more than 45'-0" (a=4.5 feet) as defined by ASCE 7-05.
• Importance Factor of no more than .87 as defined by ASCE 7-05.
Roof pitch of no more than 45°.
• Rails may be either perforated or unperforated.
• Rails may be spliced a maximum distance of 17" from center of the support to center of splice.
• Analysis of the rail is based upon the maximum effects of either the largest gravity loads or wind
uplift loads. The point loads(either positive or negative)can act in either direction depending upon
the type of loading(i.e. wind, snow...etc.).
• Height of no more than 8"from the surface of the finished roof to the top of the panel.
• Modules may be installed in portrait or landscape.
Product Specifications:
• Aluminum alloy is either 6061-T6, 6105-T5, or 6005-T5.
• Lumos LSXSplice (8"minimum length).

• If no more than 25% of a perimeter module extends into roof zone 3,then all rail sections may span
up to 4'- 0"between supports with a maximum cantilever of 2'- 0" from center of support to edge of
module.
• If more than 25%of a perimeter module extends into roof zone 3,then rail sections in zone 3 beneath
said module may span up to 2' -0"between supports with a maximum cantilever of 18"from center
of support to edge of module.
• If rails are installed with only a single span, then all rail sections may span up to 4'- 0" between
supports with a maximum cantilever of 16" from center of support to edge of module.
Please see attached data sheets for the Lumos LSXRaiI, Splice and LSX Modules.
Review of any building structural element is outside the scope of this (etter.

Xantrex brings the next generation of inverter/charger to market, with the XW Hybrid Inverter/
Charger, the heart of the XW System. The XW Hybrid Inverter/Charger(XW)is a true sine wave,
120I240-volt AC,split-phase,inverter/charger that incorporates a DC to AC inverter,a battery
charger, and an AC auto-transfer switch. It is the foundation for battery-based residential and I
commercial applications up to 18 kilowatts(kW).Capable of being grid-interactive or grid- '
independent, the XW can operate with generators and renewable energy sources to provide ,
full-time or backup power. ,

The XW Conduit Box mounts directly to the bottom of an invertedcharger to safely protect end-users from '
inadvertent contact with wiring or connections. It comes bundled with the XW Power Distribution Panel I 'a: -
and the XW Connection Kit;however,it is also is available separately for systems larger than two inverters,
or to retrofit inverters into existing systems which may already have AC/DC disconnects. .
The Conduit Box is easily secured with two screws provided on the bottom of the invertec The bottom
flange of the conduit box can then be attached(fasteners not provided)to the wall to complete the .,,m :
installation. The front panel of the conduit box can be removed by removing I

the two screws on the front, allowing ample space to make all necessary wire connections. I

In multi-unit installations, the sides of adjacent conduit boxes can be removed to create an effective j
raceway with lots of volume to run AC and DC inverter cabling. The conduit box also indudes multiple I
cable strap points, allowing the final installation to look dean and professional. '
In addition,an internal sheet metal barrier is induded to keep communications wires separate from AC
and DC power wires.

XW MPPT 80 600 Solar Charge Controller
The XW MPPT 80 600 is an innovative solar charge controller that offers an industry-first set of features:high PV input voltage(up to 600 Vdc),
Maximum Power Point Tracking(MPPI),and 80 A charge current.600 Vdc PV input voltage delivers lower installation costs through fewer PV strings,
longer home runs, smaller wiring and conduit, and virtual elimination of PV combiner boxes and circuit breakers. MPPT technology helps harvest the
most energy available from the PV array, regardless of environmental conditions.80 A battery charge current allows for connection of arrays
rated at up to 4800 W(48 V battery bank).
