Asbestos Testing &Abatement Requirements
Asbestos testing and abatement protects workers, homeowners, neigE�bors and emergency servi�es responders from ex-
posure to harmful asbestos. It is your responsibility to be in complian�e with the Stafe. Please contact the S�a�e directly

When is asbestos testing required?
ANY building projects disturbing mare than tE�ese threshold levels af building maferials require asbestos�esting:
One- and Two-Family �wellings: 32 square feet
All Others (co�-nmercial spaces, hotel rooms, etc}: i60 square feet
Definition af a single-family dwe[ling: any dwelling uni�tha�is used primarily for a single family, including
mu{fii-Family/condominium �nits, and fractional fee units.
Asbestas testing results must be provided with yaur application for a bui[ding permit.
Tests which identify POSITIVE results at more than 1% r�quire abaterrient by a State-certifed abaterr�ent contractor. The
air clearance I�t�er or form must be su6mitted to the Tawn of Vail before the building permit wil[ be issued,
