Subject: Micro-Pile Grout Testing Completion Letter, Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater
Phase II Hnprovements, 530 South Frontage Road East, Vail, Colorado
Gentlemen:
As requested, we are providing a summary of our micro-pile grout testing provided for
the above referenced project The reports of the services requested and performed far the
project are referenced below. The services were performed in accordance with our
agreement for services with R.A. Nelson& Associates dated October 31, 2013.
The grout samples were taken on a daily basis throughout the micro-pile construction
between January 29 and February 28, 2014. A total of 21 grout sample sets were taken
and returned to our laboratory for compression strength testing. All of the sample sets
tested exceeded the specified compressive strength except for the sample on January 29,
2014 which achieved 77% strength at 28 days and 92% at 56 days of curing, and on
February 18, 2014 which achieved 82% strength at 28 days of curing.
Based upon inferences drawn from our testing, as documented by the referenced daily
field reports, it is our professional opinion that the referenced construction has achieved
the specified conditions except for the two samples noted. Please recognize that
construction observation and testing are sampling functions that involve direct
observation and testing of very limited amount of the overall wark to evaluate the
construction compliance.
