BOOTH CREEK TOWNHOMES SNOWMELT BOILER SHED AND NEW HEATED CONCRETE WALKWAYS VAIL, COLORADO JUNE, 2014 PROJECT NARRATIVE The Booth Creek Townhomes in East Vail are accessed via a series of asphalt walkways which have been heated by embedded electric heat cables. This system is expensive to operate and has experienced an increasing number of cable failures. This project consists of overlaying the existing asphalt walkways with new tinted concrete walks with embedded hydronic snowmelt tubing. The snowmelt boiler system will be housed in a small shed to be located between existing buildings in a tree sheltered area near an existing electrical transformer. The shed will be sided, roofed and stained with colors and materials matching the finishes to the complex completed in 2013.
