Subject: Comments Regarding Non-Compliance of Reinforcement Steel Placement,
Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater Phase II Improveinents, 530 South Frontage
Road East, Vail, Colorado
Gentlemen:
As requested, we are providing comments regarding the non-compliance reinforcement
report we provided for March 6, 2014. Hepworth-Pawlak Geotechnical previously
provided a compliance letter for the masonry construction and reinforceinent bar
placement in a letter dated June 12, 2014 under the above job number.
All of the observed reinfarcement placement we observed inet the specifications except
for the initial reinfarcement steel placement for Pile Cap #1 on March 6, 2014 which was
missing one bar and was reparted to the contractor. We have been provided
documentation that the Town of Vail Building Deparhnent observed the missing bar to be
in place on March ]0, 2014 prior to the concrete placement for the pile cap.
It is our professional opinion that the referenced steel reinforcement construction has
achieved Uie specified conditions.
