An applica- tion for Design Review cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Community development De- partment. Design Review approval expires one year from the date of approval, unless a building permit is issued and construction commences. Submittal Requirements: The Town of Vail offers two (2) methods for submittal of materials for review of applications. Materials can be submitted either digitally or on paper. Whichever method you select all materials shall be submitted in that format throughout the Design Review process. The Town encourages you to consider using the submittal of digital documents and plans. If submitting digitally all elements of the application shall be uploaded to the Town’s share file site as a complete set of materials. If submitting paper three (3) copies of the materials noted with an asterisk (*) and one (1) copy of all others are required. The materials necessary to have a complete application are as follows: 1. Copies of all pertinent approved plans with illustrated, labeled changes. 2. Joint Property Owner Written Approval Letter, if applicable.. Property Owner: ____________________________________________________________________ Mailing Address: ____________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________ Phone: _________________________________ Owner’s Signature: __________________________________________________________________ Primary Contact/ Owner Representative: _________________________________________________ Mailing Address: ____________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________ Phone: _________________________________ E-Mail: _____________________________________Fax: ___________________________________ July  15,  2014   Warren  Campbell,  Chief  of  Planning   Town  of  Vail  Community  Development  Dept.   75  S.  Frontage  Road   Vail,  CO  81657   RE:    Extension  of  DRB  Approval  for  the  Vail  Marriott  Residence  Inn  (DRB13-­‐0184)   Dear  Warren:   On  August  7,  2013,  the  DRB  approved  changes  to  the  Vail  Marriott  Residence  Inn,  which   included  the  addition  of  24  limited  service  lodge  units  and  modifications  to  the  west  wing   roof  form.    This  approval  is  valid  for  one  year,  or  until  August  7,  2014.    However,  as  you  are   aware,  the  Planning  and  Environmental  Commission  approval  for  the  most  recent  Exterior   Alteration  (PEC13-­‐0017)    is  valid  until  June  24,  2016.    We  would  like  to  request  an  extension  of   the  DRB  approval.    We  would  like  to  request  that  the  DRB  approval  align  with  the  PEC   approval  and  have  both  approvals  expire  on  the  same  date:    June  24,  2016.    However,  if  that   is  not  possible  and  staff  can  only  approve  a  one  year  extension,  that  is  acceptable  to  us.    In   that  case,  we  would  request  an  extension  to  August  7,  2015.    The  Harp  Group  is  working   diligently  to  prepare  all  required  documents  to  submit  for  a  building  permit,  and  intend  to   begin  construction  in  the  Spring  of  2015.   As  you  recommended,  we  have  provided  a  “Changes  to  Approved  Plans”  DRB  application   form  to  request  this  extension,  though  we  are  proposing  no  changes  at  this  time.       Should  you  have  any  questions  or  require  any  additional  information,  please  do  not  hesitate   to  contact  me  at  970.376-­‐3318.    Thank  you  for  your  time  and  consideration  on  this  matter.       Sincerely,     Dominic  F.  Mauriello,  AICP   Principal   PO Box 4777 Eagle, Colorado 81631 970.376.3318 www.mpgvail.com
