General Information: This application is required for all proposals involving minor changes to buildings and site improve-
ments, such as roofing, painting, window additions, landscaping, fences, retaining walls, etc. Applicable Vail Town
Code sections can be found at www.vailgov.com under Vail Information — Town Code Online. All projects requiring de-
sign review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit application. An application for Design Review
cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Community Development Department, as outlined in
the submittal requirements. The project may also need to be reviewed by the Town Council and /or the Planning and
Environmental Commission. Design review approval expires one year from the date of approval, unless a building per-
mit is issued and construction commences.

This proposal was started back in August 2013. The homeowners at 1191 Homsilver Circle had decided that they
wanted a change with the noise levels that were being emitted from 1 -70. So we started the process of building and
designing a water feature to minimize the noise levels.
Our first step was to hire an acoustics engineer from DL Adams. They came out and recorded different levels of the
highway from different viewing points within the property. Next we went around and measured similar water features
that we would build on the property to give us an overlaying sound effect for starting our design.
Our company is very conscience about keeping existing areas clean and undamaged. This is why we are laying out
3/4" plywood for our heavy equipment to drive on. This plywood is double stacked to give 1.5" of cushion to the ground
below. All of our unloading sites will have 3 layers of 3/4" plywood to minimize damage from boulders. All plywood is
completely removed for the weekend and removed once during the week. This allows the grounds below to be irrigated
and maintained during the building process. Thanks for your time.
