General Information: This application is required for all proposals involving minor changes to buildings and site improve-
ments, such as roofing, painting, window additions, landscaping, fences, retaining walls, etc. Applicable Vail Town
Code sections can be found at www.vailgov.com under Vail Information – Town Code Online. Ali projects requiring de-
sign review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit application. An appN. -ation for Design Review
cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Community Development Department, as outlined in
the submittal requirements. The project may also need to be reviewed by the Town Council and/or the Planning and
Environmental Commission. Design review approval expires one year from the date of approval, unless a building per- mit is issued and construction commences.

EXPANSION AT RED LION BUILDING
BRIDGE STREET

The Owners of Charlie's T -shirt company and Vail Gear recently expanded
the Hanson Ranch Road store into the adjacent space previously occupied by
Hughs Jewelry store.
The proposed project includes the following, each item of which is intended
to follow the village Design Guidelines and comply with the Town's energy
code.
Remove the south entrance door to the main store and integrate the
two existing bay window display features into a single large bay
matching the bays on the west portion of the store. ( Hughs)
Remove the large west facing bay window on the main store and
install a new aluminum & glass entry door /sidelight generally
matching the door on the Double Diamond shoe Store opposite on
Bridge Street.
All new finishes will match the existing building materials & colors.
Glass will be double pane insulated units. Note upper divided lites on
the new bay windows to break down the scale in compliance with the
village guidelines.
Within the store, floor levels will be adjusted to meet the exterior
street grade and comply with ADA access guidelines.
Any changes to signage will be presented as a separate project at a layer
date.
