I was told that the fireplace will be aligned on one edge over the exterior wall. It is no bigger than 24" x 48". ' The area supporting this new fireplace shall be reinforced. A second 2x12 shall be added to the existing 2x12 floor joists in this area. A double joist shall also be centered under any stone veneer, if added. In addition, the stairway was built differently than shown on our plan. The new lower landing is supported on a 3x12 stringer running from the upper landing down to the living room wall/floor. This is also adequate for the stairway support. Please call with any questions.
