APPENDIX: The following are abbreviated and slightly revised contents (in order to more precisely match Application) of email from Jason Byrne to Martin Haeberle on Saturday, 1Vovember 8, 2014 at 1:57PM after Pre-Application planning meeting in the afternoon of Friday, 1Vovember 7, 2014. The email contains scope, slight revisions to scope, and other details of the Project and Application. Page 2 of 4 "Martin, Before submitting would you be willing to confirm some of my understandings are correct and to answer a couple questions I didn't ask yesterday? MY UNDERSTANDINGS 1 . Our basic scope is: a. Remove and replace kitchen cabinets, counters, and appliances — and reposition dishwasher and sink and stove about 30" each. b. Bathroom (toilet and tub room) will not be touched. Bath vanity and sink will be removed/replaced. c. Fur out much of east and west exterior walls in order to hide electrical and fire conduit. d. Remove existing interior NON load bearing wall and closets, replace with new wall and closets in slightly revised layout. Texture, trim, and paint. Texture trim and paint all other existing interior walls to match. The existing ceiling over kitchen, entryway, and hallway to bathroom will not be altered except for new texture and paint. e. Install 30" wide and about 14" deep storage closet immediately south of existing fireplace. f. Remove and replace doors and trim per plan. g. Either hide existing fire sprinklers behind new furred out walls or relocate in the new interior wall. See separately submitted Fire Sprinkler Plan from Fire Sprinkler Contractor. h. Install repositioned / new electrical outlets, light switches, and lights in newly built/furred walls. No additional recessed lighting in the ceiling and no additional ceiling penetrations. i. Replace and reposition electric baseboard heaters. j. Put new "stone on mesh" on the fireplace — existing fireplace location and structure. k. My understanding is that the above scope is NOT altering any fire rated assemblies - correct? Page 3 of 4 2. Mechanical plans: based on what I shared yesterday, and not adding nor moving any mechanical items, we do not need to include a mechanical plan in our building permit submittal. 3. Plumbing plans: based on what I shared yesterday, the only plumbing items we will be moving are the dishwasher (about 30") and the sink (about 30") and we will not be adding any plumbing fixtures, so we do not need to include a plumbing plan in our submittal. 4. Electrical plans: assuming we are not switching out the electrical panels (it's GE) we do not need to submit electrical plans stamped by an electrical engineer, we just need to submit an electrical load calculation by a TOV licensed engineer. 5. Fire sprinklers: Our fire sprinkler contractor will separately submit fire sprinkler plans and they will be separately approved. Must be approved by TOV before we receive our rough frame approval. Typically this approval takes less time than the building permit approval. 6. Asbestos abatement: the state permit approval process and the state approved abatement contractor's work are 100% separate from TOV, and the permitted abatement contractor may do what is necessary in order to abate without any input nor approval nor inspections from TOV. Asbestos may be remediated or encapsulated per permitted contractors decisions. 7. Demo: TOV does not issue separate demo permits, they are part of the building permit. We are, however, allowed to remove cabinets, counters, vanities, carpet, trim, etc — however we are not allowed to remove entire walls nor gut the interior without the building/demo permit. 8. *****Pls confirm I got this correct: based on the above and based on providing an accurate CAD drawing similar to what we reviewed yesterday, we do NOT need to provide architect nor engineer wet stamped CAD drawings of anything — neither for the existing layout nor the proposed layout. In other words a draftsman may prepare the CAD and we/our contractor may submit without a wet stamp? If wet stamped electrical plans are necessary (new panel box) we must provide those. Correct?***** Jason Jason Byrne jasonbyrne@me.com mobile: 303-946-2707 Sent from Blue Sky" Page 4 of 4
