Drawer 5400 Avon, Colorado 81620 (j morleyOranel son. com) Job No. 114 450A Subject: Review of Structural Steel and Fireproofing Inspection Reports, Steel Weld Connection and Fireproofing Inspections, Unit 1021, 4 Seasons Lodge, 1 Vail Road, Vail, Colorado Dear Jason: As requested, we have reviewed the structural steel and fireproofing inspection reports made to date for the subject project. The services were performed in accordance with our agreement for professional services to RA Nelson & Associates, Inca dated October 13, 2014. The inspection of the structural steel connection and the fireproofing patch placed back over the connection for the project was performed by West Slope Testing and Inspection (WSTI) as a subcontractor to Hepworth - Pawlak Geotechnical. Doug Young with WSTI, who performed the inspections, is a certified inspector for welded and bolted connections. The structural steel and fireproofing construction are essentially complete at this time. Two inspection reports were made for site visits to the project by WSTI on October 16 and November 14, 2014. Copies of the reports are attached. The inspections indicate the structural steel connection was made in general conformance with the project plans and specifications and the fireproofing patch matched the existing fireproofing. Discovered some welds that needed completed, increased in size, and/or repaired. These corrections where completed. Then the field welding inspected above appeared to be in substantial conformance with the plans, and the quality requirements of the AWS Did Structural Welding Code. Vail, CO Building Permit No: B14-0139 General Contractor: RA Nelson of shop fabrication or field work at iob site: Field xeport: inspected the spray - applied treproofing for thickness & coverage at framing roof level were fireproofing had been re- applied at steel beams/connections that were exposed for new construction. The spray - applied fireproofing inspected above appeared to meet or exceed the original fireproofing for thickness, and also appeared to be of the same type used in the existing construction. To the best of my knowledge this completes the special inspections of the structural steel onsite welding & spray - applied fireproofing, as outlined in reports #1 & #2 on the project.
