Exterior Alteration
General Information: This application is required for all proposals involving minor changes to buildings and site improve-
ments, such as roofing, painting, window additions, landscaping, fences, retaining walls, etc. Applicable Vail Town
Code sections can be found at www.vailqov.com under Vail Information -Town Code Online. All projects requiring de-
sign review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit application. An application for Design Review
cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Community Development Department, as outlined in
the submittal requirements. The project may also need to be reviewed by the Town Council and/or the Planning and
Environmental Commission. Design review approval expires one year from the date of approval, unless a building per-
mit is issued and construction commences.

Gas stubs a�e run up to all units at Vail east Condominiums and each owner is encouraged to run the gas tine into their
unit for a gas fireplace insert.The hoa approves any gas line work in accordance with other units and you have approval
to run this line into your unit to service any approved gas fireplace.
All permits must apply and TOV approval is required.

I can not get ahold of Dan with your HOA. I have left four messages and went by his office. Unfortunately without his
approval it is dead in the water I am not able to pult the permit as the DRB sign off is required but they will not sign off
without the HOA approval.....

Hi Lynda,
In trying to submit your permit to the Town of Vail we were informed that because the gas line they are tying into is on
the exterior of your home we have to get HOA approval,then get the DRB approval before we can pull the permit.
The fee for the DRB approval is$250 which would be charged in addition to the proposal that you accepted from Joe.
I need to get approval for that cost as well as contact information for the head of your HOA so that I can get a sign off
from him so that I can submit for the DRB approval. The DRB approval can take up to 3 weeks due to the holiday so
really time is of the essence on this,
I left you a message as well but hoped to reach you here sooner.
Please let me know as soon as possible.
