General Information: This application is required for all proposals involving the addition of any floor area, including net
floor area and /or gross residential floor area (GRFA). This also includes proposals for `residential 250 additions' and
'interior conversions'. Applicable Vail Town Code sections can be found at www.vailgov.com under Vail information —
Town Code Online. All projects requiring design review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit appli-
cation. An application for Design Review cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Community
Development Department, as outlined in the submittal requirements. The project may also need to be reviewed by the
Town Council and/or the Planning and Environmental Commission. Design review approval expires one year from the
date of approval, unless a building permit is issued and construction commences.

Dear Sirs:
Attached is an application for Design Review, Additions - Residential, for Unit 340 at Villa
Cortina, 0022 W. Meadow Drive. The application is to add a loft to Unit 340 containing
bedrooms, two baths, and a storage room inside the shell of the existing unit. This process has
been completed in four other units in Villa Cortina being Units 320, 330, 355, and 360. The total
area of the addition is 747 square feet and the existing unit is 2,004.26 square feet. The floor
plans and sections showing the addition are attached. The intent by the owners is to build
additional bedrooms and bathrooms for their extended family.
The addition includes a window in bedroom #5 facing north which will match in size the hallway
window just below and east of this access window. There is a skylight located in the ceiling/roof
of bedroom #4 which is a Velux Skylight, a cut sheet of the skylight is attached. This skylight is
not visible from adjacent properties because of the relatively flat shape slope of the roof and
adjacent evergreen trees.
A filing fee of $300.00 is attached with the application and all parts of the application have been
completed. There is a letter of authorization from Siganos C. V. being the owner of property for
Isom & Associates to make this application. The addition has been reviewed and approved by
the Home Owners Association for Villa Cortina and the Joint Property Owner written approval
letter is attached and is signed by their authorized representative. This application is being
submitted on January 12, 2015, to be heard at the meeting to be held on February 4, 2015. A title
commitment from Heritage Land Title is also attached.
It is understood that a Housing Fee is due prior to Building Permit which is 747 square feet X
$134.65 or $10,058.36. The zoning on this property is High Density Multi- Family.

In discussions with Mike Vaughn, Fire Marshal, the unit will be fire sprinkled with stub out to
the common hallway.
On Thursday, January 8, 2015, I met with Joe Batcheller to go over the application and drawings
and also Martin Haeberle to get input for a Building Permit.
