l. At the existing 4x6 beam at the old edge ofthe floor, shore and cut back the new 4x6, that runs
into the existing 4x6, glue and nail a | 3/q"x7 yz" M.L. beam full length to the ends of the existing
4x6. Bear one end onttt" %log pilaster. At the other end, attach to the 2x6 ledger with a
Simpson A35 clip. Attach the new 4x6 to the M.L. with (2)-A35 clips'
2. Run a 4x6x approximately l'-0 from the log column at the stairs to the existing 4x6 beam as a
support for the edge ofthe 2x6 decking.
3. Connect the new 4x6 to the I 314x9 %" and I %"x8" M.L. beam with a LS50 and (l)-ll2"
diameter bolt.
