BUILDING PERMIT ISSUANCE TIME FRAME
If this permit requires a Town of Vail Fire Department Approval, Engineer's (Public Works)
review and approval, a Planning Department review or Health Department review, and a review
by the Building Depaftment, the estimated time for a total review will take as long as three (3)
weeks.
All commercial (large or small) and all multi-family permits will have to follow the above
mentioned maximum requirements. Residential and small projects should take a lesser amount
of time. However, if residential or smaller projects impact the various above mentioned
depaftments with regard to necessary review, these projects may also take three (3) weeks to
review and approve.
Every attempt will be made by this depaftment to expedite this permit as soon as possible.
I, the undersigned, understand the plan check procedure and time frame. I also understand
that if the permit is not picked up by the expiration date, that I must still pay the plan check fee
and that if I fail to do so it may affect future permits that I apply for.

INTRODUCTION:
On August 20th, 2003, an inspection/survey w:rs conducted and 3
bulk samples were collected from the:
Learning Center
001310 West Haven Drive
Unit#R-3
Vail, CO.
The purpose of the inspection/sun'ey was to locate and sample
suspected asbestos containing materials ttrat might be present in the
designated area ofthe unit that is planned for renovation.
The inspection was made, and the samples were collected by John R.
Peterman, an A.H.E.R.A. and State of Colorado Certifred Asbestos
Inspecor. Great care was taken during the inspection and sampling to be as
accluare as possible. It should be noted that minimal damage was done to
thc existing building struchrrcs during the inspection so there is no
documentation for unseen conditions or stored items.
All samples were analyzed by DCM Science Lab in Lakewood, CO'
Tiris laboratory is deemed'?roficient''in the E.P.A.Quality Assurance (QA)
program for the determination of asbestos in bulk materials, and is
accredited by the American Hygiene Association (AI{A).
SAMPLINQ PROTOCOL:

RENOVATION AREA DESCRIFTION:
The planned renovation consists of the removal of sheetrock walls and
ceilings in the bathroom and closet arcas. The interior walls are taped and
paintii sheetrock. The ceilings are taped and painted sheetrock like fte
'*ullr. Th"t" is ceramic tile on the sheetrock in the shower area- The floors
are covered with carpet and ceramic tiles.
CONCLUSIONS & RECOMMEITIDATIONS:
Laboratory Analysis of the bulk samples indicate that NO Asbestos was
detected in the submitted samples.
