Dear Alex,
Jan Streets, our Licensed Designer, reviewed and gave you a copy, on Sept 26s, of a
Design Concept Drawing for improvements we want to make to our unit in the Club.
As she discussed with you, the planned improvements are generally cosmetic in nature,
providing for new and upgraded kitchen cabinets and appliances, new bathroom cabinets
and fixtures and new flooring throughout. The Design also calls for modifications of the
bedroom closets to enhance their overall function and attractiveness.
The improvements have no structural consequences on our unit nor any of the units
adjacent to ours. No changes are being made to the exterior nor any common walls nor
any load bearing walls. There are no modifications to the basic plumbing structure nor
electrical systems, except possibly minor relocation of some electrical outlets. Obviously,
we will used Licensed Contractors, and insure everything is done to code, for any such
items.
Time is of the essence here, as we want to get everything done before the snow rental
season gets underway, and while access is easy and things are generally slow at the Club.
We have scheduled a contractor to begin removal of cabinets and fixtures and flooring
next week, and we are meeting with our Architect tomorrow to review everything else.
New kitchen cabinets and flooring have been ordered, because of the long lead time on
these items.
Our understanding from Jan Street's meeting with you, is that these improvements are ok
with you (and the Club), as long as we provide you with written assurance from a
Licensed Architect or Engineer that they will have no structural, nor otherwise adverse,
impact on our unit nor any adjacent unit. Would you please confirm that our
understanding here is correct? Perhaps you would sign this fax and re-fax it to us. If
someone else at the Club needs to also approve our Plan, would you please have them
sign as well, so that we can get started next week.
We also ask for your guidance on how to best minimize disturbance of our neighbors and
disposal of demolition materials. Also, do you have any suggestions on where we might
obtain immediate storage for the remaining bedroom set, dining set and TV.
Thank you very much for your help. We are very excited about these improvements to
our unit and to the Club overall.
Would you please call us today, a1719-68'7-8600, as soon as you are able. I understand
that you are leaving tomonow for a week or so. We do apologize for the urgency of this
request.
