Dear Mr. Davis,
The inlent of this letter is io request an extension for the Vail Cascade Residences
building permit. Permit #807-0'1 1 was issued on June 1 1 , and has an expiration date of 180 days
- slated to expire December 8,2007.
Per section 1 05.5 of the IBC code - we are requesting an extension of 180 days from the
December 11 date -to the date ofJune 5, 2008.
There were several reasons the project did not start as scheduled this past spring which
affected the ability to have the project enclosed by Mid-December. The mid December
'enclosure' completion date is an agreement between the Cascade Hotel and the developer of
this project - to essentially ensure the Hotel has as good a guest experience as possible for their
winter season. The project will not be complete at this time - but we are intending to have the
structure erected and enclosed.
BUILD IN G(,(,D C('MPANY.
The outstanding items are as follows:1. Pending resolution of the final purchase of the Blue Tiger restaurant2. Modifications to the final sky bridge product that coordinate with anticipated renovations
to the entry of the Aria Spa
3. Modifications to the floor plans of the project - several larger sized units were scaled
down and split - creating 3 new units.
With the above changes nearing resolution - we have targeted a re-submittal of the
approved plans to the TOV building department on or around December 14,2007. The affected
changes to the plans will be clouded. The current target to start construction is on or around
l'.4cnday, lt4arch 31 , 2008.
At this time - we respectfully request an extension to the building permit. Please let me
know if you have any further questions or need more information from myself or the project team.
