Dear Garv:
This,truss currently bears on a triple 2 x 12 header above the pair of sliders in this wall. Part of fte truss is
directly over the mullion befween these sliders. The 2 x 12 header spans continuously over both of the
sliders. Cunently only one stud exists in the cenual mullion area, and the header is supported by a single
trimmer at the far ends of both sliders. A slight gap was noted between these trimnrcrs and the header.

The new sliders to be installed are slightly narrower, which gives us the oppornmity to add additional
bearing studs under this header. I recommend that you install a tiple 2 x 6 pack in the mullion between the
new sliders. Furthermore, I also suggest that you add %" plywood full height to the single timmers at the
ends, insuring that positive bearing is achieved between the header bottom and the new trirnner assembly.
Thi-s may fequir.e the addition of steel shims above the existing 2 x trinurrcrs.

Amendment to the 1999 N.E.C. Town of Vail Ordinance 10-1-6.
Overhead services are not allowed in the Town of Vail.
Underground services have to be in conduit (PVC) from the transformer to the electric meter, main disconnect
switch and to the first electrical distribution circuit breaker oanel.
The main disconnect switch shall be located next to the meter on the exterior wall of the structure easilv
accessible.
All underground conduits are required to be inspected before back-filling the trench,
In multi-family dwelling units, no electrical wiring or feeder. cableS'shall pass from one unit to another. Common
walls and spaces are accepted.
NM Cable (Romex) is not allowed in commercial buildings or structures exceeding three (3) stories.
No use of aluminum wire smaller than size #8 will be permitted with the Town of Vail.
TOWN OF VAIL ELECTRICAL PERMIT GUIDELINES
All installations of exterior hot tubs or spa's require a DRB approval from planning. This application will
not be accepted without a copy of the DRB approval form attached (if applicable).

If this permit is for installatjon of an exterior hot tub or spa on any existing deck or btevateO platform,
a structural engineer must review the existing condition and verif,/ that it will supporf the added
concentrated load. Please provide a copy of the structural engineers wet stamped letter or drawing

If this is a remodel in a multi-family building with a homeowners association, a letter of permission
from the association is required.
o If this permit is for a commercial space, two (2) sets of stamped drawings are required,
