Dear Bill:
I appreciate the tirne you took several weeks ago to discuss the status of our
Design Review from August 2001. As I explained at the time of our
discussion, tlie Board of Directors of the Association. flrough giving
preliminary approval prior to the submission of the plans to the town, would
not give final approval. This caused the project to be put on hold while we
worked with the association.
The association's concern was that we would create a habitable area out of the
space and convert it to use for our personal living. Though this was clearly not
the intent, and would in fact violate the Town of Vail approval, it took me well
over a year to convince them of this. I explained that if in fact we were to tum
it into a habitable space, the Town of Vail would have action against us; and,
all the association would need to do is call the Department of Community
Development.
The Town of Vail's prior approval was vacated since it took so long to get the
association's final approval. Therefore, we would like to reapply for the same
approval short of the fold down ladder. We have leamed that the fold down
ladder would not meet OSHA standards. The means for roof access would not
be by an OSHA approved ladder and the roof area will be protected from the
hallway by a trap door which will conform to code.
I hope that I have included adequate information to seek approval of this minor
modification to the Vorlaufer building.

Dear Mr. Cohagen:
It has been brought to our attention by the Villa Valhalla Homeowners Association the fact that
you have made in unauthorized connection to a gas line located on the outside west wall of
your unit located at 360 Gore Creek Drive, Unit #12. Upon checking your construction permit
iocuments (construction permit #6152), it appears that a plumbing permit was not issued {or
your residence remodel.
You need to contact your plumbing contractor and have them come to our office and submit
two sets of plans and a request for a permit for both the plumbing work and gas line
installation at your residence. We also require a letter of authorization from the Villa Valhalla
Horireowners Association approving the connection into their gas line or a letter approving a
separate metered gas line which then must be installed.

and are not recoverable. I need to ask for replacement sets and I understand that I will

should correspond to the file copy which you have in your office. I would appreciate your
calling me when these are ready for me to pick up.

workmen vehicles upon any street, sidewal.k, alley or publicplace or any portion thereof. The right-of-way on all Town ofVail streets and roads is approximately 5 ft. off pavenent.This ordinance will be striclly enforcEd by the Town of Vai_IeglJic works Department. persons found violating this ordinancewilr be given a 24 hour written notice to rernove-said material.In the event the person so notified does not comply with thenotice within the 24 hour time specified, the pubfic WorksDepartment will remove said material at the expense of personnotified. The provisions of this ordinance shall not bLapplicable to construction, maintenance or repair projects ofany street or alley or any utilities in the right-a-way.
