Re: Tivoli Geothermal Retrofit
To Whom It May Concem:
Vail Associates, Inc. has been approached by the Tivoli Lodge to gain permission to drill
and install wells on land owned by The Vail Corporation dba Vail Associates, lnc.
("VA'). These wells are to be used as part of an environmentally friendly geothermal air
conditioning system for the Tivoli.
VA in very interested in accommodating the Tivoli's request and we'll work towards
entering into an encroachment agreement with them as soon as our review is complete
and the appropriate document drafted and executed.
Please consider this as a letter of intent to work with the Tivoli on the execution of an
agteement and allow them to proceed with their project. Notwithstanding the irrovisions
of this letter, VA's agreement to accommodate Tivoli's request is with the understanding
that Tivoli's owner agrees to enter into said encroachment agreement with VA, as
evidenced by the countersignature on this letter.

Overhead seruices are not allowed in the Town of Vail.
Underground services shallE in conduit (PVC) from the utility transformer to the electric meter, main
disconnect switch, and to the first electrical distribution circuit breaker panel.
The main disconnect switch shall b tadily arcsible, andlcrcated next to the meter on the exterior wall of
the structure. All underground conduib are required to be inspected before back-filling the trench.

TOWN OF VAIL ELECTRICAL PERMIT GUIDELINES
All installations of exterior hot tubs or spa's require a DRB approval from planning. This application will
not be accepted without a copy of the DRB approval form attached (if applicable).
If this permit is for installation of an exterior hot tub or spa on a new elevated platform or deck over
30" above grade, you must also obtain a building permit.
If this permit is for installation of an exterior hot tirb or spa on any existing deck or elevated platform,
a structural engineer must review the existing condition and veriff that it will suppoft the added
concentrated load. Please provide a copy of the structural engineers wet stamped letter or drawing
with this application.
If this is a remodel in a multi-family building with a homeowners association, a letter of permission
from the association is required.
If this permit is for a commercial space, two (2) sets of stamped drawings are required. Eledrtcat

Building Deoaft ment Comments:
1 Sheet M2.1 indicates pump P/1, storage tanks ST/1, ST/2 and expansion tank EI/l within a vertical
exit enclosure. Exit enclosures shall not be used for purpose other than means of egress. (IBC 1019)
Penetrations are limited to those necessary to the exit enclosure. (IBC 1019.1.2) The tank will have
to be moved or show compliance the IBC 1019.1.5.
a) Add a door outside the enclosure to provide access.
b) Provide an engineer stamped detail for the new door opening.
c) The door accessing the space will be required top be 90 minute rated.
d) Provide 2 hour assemblies that will be installed in the space to protect the stairs.

guaranteeing the re-vegetation of the site in the spring. These documents are provided at the
