Overhead services are not allowed in the Town of Vail.
Underground seruices shall be in conduit (PVC) trom ffie utility Uansformer to the electric meter, maln
disconnect switch, and to the first electrical distribution circuii breaker panel.
The main disconnect switch shall h tadily arcsibb, andlcrated next to the meter on the exterior wall of
the sbucture. All underground conduib are required to be inspected before back-filling the ffench.
In multi-family dwelling unib, no electical wiring or feeder cables shall pass from one unit b another. Common

- TOWN OF VAIL ELECTRICAL PERMIT GUIDEUNES
All installations of oterior hottubs or spa's require a DRB approvalfrom planning. This application will
not be accepted without a copy of the DRB approval form attached (if applicable).
If this permit is for installaUon of an exterior hot tub or spa on a new elevated platform or deck over
30" above grade, you must also obtain a building permit.
If this permit is for installation of an e)fterior hot tub or spa on any existing deck or elevated platform,
a structural engineer must reMew the existing condition and veriff that it will support the added
concentrated load. Please provide a copy of the sfructural engineers wet stamped letter or drawing
with this application.
If this is a remodel in a mufti-ftmily building with a homeowners association, a letter of permission
from the association is required.
If this permit is for a commercial space, two (2) sets of stamped drawings are required. Electical
one-line and panel schedula arc requited if load is addd or distribution is alhred,
and understand the above.

ELECTRICAL PERMIT FEES
Following is a list of electrical fees. Fees may be adjusted annually based on changes of
the fee schedule released by the Colorado State Electrical Board. As stated in the
Colorado Revised Statute (C.R.S) 12-23-117121: "Because electrical inspections are a
mafter af statewide concern, the maximum fees, established annually, chargeable for
electrical inspection by any ci$, town, county, or city and county shall not be more than
fifteen percent above those provided for in fhis secflon, and no such local govemment
shall impose or collect any other fee or charge related to electrical inspections or
permits."The fees listed below reflect a fifteen percent increase above what is shown in
the C.R.S. due to the nature of work customarily installed in Vail.
A" RESIDENTIAL: This fee includes new construction, remodeling or addition and repair to:
single family home, duplex, condominium and townhouses. Excluded in this fee is hotel
accommodation unit which are calculated based on seotion B of this fee schedule.
