General Information: This application is required for all proposals involving minor changes to buildings and site improve-
ments, such as roofing, painting, window additions, landscaping, fences, retaining walls, etc. Applicable Vail Town
Code sections can be found at www.vailgov.com under Vail Information – Town Code Online. All projects requiring de-
sign review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit application. An application for Design Review
cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Community Development Department, as outlined in
the submittal requirements. The project may also need to be reviewed by the Town Council and /or the Planning and
Environmental Commission. Design review approval expires one year from the date of approval, unless a building per-
mit is issued and construction commences.

RE: DRB Letter for Exterior Alterations for Mountain Meadows Condominiums
located at 4682 E. Meadow Drive, East Vail, Colorado
To Whom It May Concern:
The Mountain Meadows Condominiums community is a multi - family community consisting of
thirty -six residential units spread across nine individual buildings in East Vail, CO. The project
generally consists of removal and replacement of concrete walkways at each unit, removal and
replacement of concrete at select garage thresholds, minor grading and drainage improvements,
full depth asphalt repairs at select areas, 2" mill & overlay of the entire parking lot and partial
drive access, and associated landscaping work.
Per discussions with the HOA, they would like to perform the aforementioned improvements as
indicated on the Construction Plans dated 3 -17 -2015. The following are some of the indicated
reasons for the needed improvements:
• The existing asphalt driveway /parking area has greatly deteriorated and begun to reach its
life expectancy, which has to be continually patch repaired and maintained over the years;
• There are a majority of the existing concrete sidewalks that have deteriorated and settled
over the years and do not have positive drainage away from the units, causing ice build -ups
in the winter months and potentially causing water damage to the units foundations;
• Decreased community hardscape aesthetics and functionality;
• Some of the downspouts located on the front side of these units do not discharge water far
enough from the building, causing sidewalk settlement and potentially causing water
damage to the units foundations
