General Information: This application is required for any sign that is located within the Town of Vail. All signs require
Design Review approval. Applicable Vail Town Code sections can be reviewed on-line at www.vailgov.com under Vail
Information—Town Code On-line (Title 11 Signs). An application for Design Review cannot be accepted until all re-
quired information is received by the Community Development Department. Design Review approval lapses unless sign
is installed within one year of the approval.

RE: VVMC/Sign Application
Dear George:
Enclosed you will find a sign application form, fee, site plan and sign design for a project identification
sign on the east wall of the East Parking Structure. The purpose of this sign is to identify the East
Structure as the main entry to the Campus for patients and guests (currently there is no signage at this
location). Installation of this sign is being done to coincide with the change in parking management at
the Campus that is to be initiated on August 3`d. Below are is more information on the sign proposal:
• The sign is temporary in nature given that the approximately 24 months from now the East
Structure will be demolished to allow for construction of a new East Wing.
• The size of the sign is+/-22 square feet (lettering and VVMC logo). The existing monument sign
on West Meadow Drive (approximately 12 square feet) will be retained as this sign includes
reference to "Emergency Department". Note that the Meadow Drive sign will be re-located
approximately 10'to the north. VVMC has frontage on two streets (well in excess of 200') and is
entitled to two identification signs up to a total of 60 square feet. The total amount of proposed
signage is well within the maximum allowable.
• Lettering and logo for the sign will be done by re-using lettering from a sign on the West Wing.
• VVMC plans to illuminate the sign with small flood lights mounted on a light pole proximate to
the sign. An addendum to this application will be provided when detail on lighting is available.
• To allo�,u#or visibility,three trees are proposed to be removed. The enclosed site plan depicting
the location of the sign and these trees is attached. Note the refinements on this plan—while
four trees are shown on the site survey, only three currently exist and all three of these are
proposed to be removed. _
