Nail Wall, 1265 N. Frontage Road West, Vail, Colorado
Dear Mr. Padley:
Hepworth-Pawlak Geotechnical, Inc. provided construction observation and materials
testing services during construction of the permanent soil nail wall as part of our services
for the overall site redevelopment. Our field inspection and testing services for the
project began on September 30, 2014 and are continuing on an as-requested basis. Our
services for the soil nail wall are essentially complete at this time.
Our services were perfonned under the direction of the undersigned licensed Engineer
registered in the State of Colorado. Any nonconfonning conditions, inaterials and/or
workmanship identified during construction were immediately brought to the attention of
the contractor far con�ection. Our testing and observation reports have been distributed
under separate cover.
Based on inferences drawn from our observations during construction and the results of
our testing as documented by the referenced field and laboratory reports, it is our
professional opinion that the referenced pennanent soil nail wall construction has
achieved the specified conditions, and/or currently accepted industry practices as
applicable. Please recognize that construction observation and testing are sampling
functions that involve direct observation and testing of very limited amount of the overall
work to evaluate the construction coinpliance.
