Box 4572 970 -949 -8391 Vail, Colorado 81 858 FAX 949-1577 flo Tripp Plavic FIELD REPORT DATE: 10/9/2007 ARRIVE: 2:00 DEPART. 2:30 WEATHER: sunny ATTENTION: JOB NUMBER: 0604 -09 PROJECT. 2417 Garmisch Dr. PRESENT AT SITE: Tripp Plavic STATUS OF COMPLETION: general framing 95% complete On Friday October 5th, 2007, I conducted a site visit at the request of the contractor. The intent of the visit was to observe the roof framing for a dormer on the unit A side which had been moved from the original location. The revised framing for this dormer is acceptable. Also brought to my attention were the following items: 1. 8" dia. holes will be cut into the floor joists at the fourth level loft on the unit B side. These holes will be located approximately 3' -0 from the end of the floor joists, and shall be centered within the depth of the joist. 2. A 4" dia. hole will be installed in the (3) -1 3/4x11 7/8" LVL beam located in the third floor framing under the unit B dining room. The hole will be located at mid -span, and shall be centered within the depth of the beam. 3. Two holes, with each not more than 2 1/2" in dia., will be installed in the W18x46 steel beam located over the unit A garage in the second floor framing. One hole will be located near mid -span, the other will be located approximately 10" from the end. Both holes shall be centered within the depth of the beam. 4. The deck framing for unit A was extended to make the deck larger than originally intended. As a result, the 6x14 beam shall be reinforced with a continuous 1/4 "x12" steel plate. 3/4" dia. thru -bolts shall fasten the plate to the beam at 16" o.c., top and bottom. The reinforcing is not required within 1' -0 of each end of the beam. 5. The 6x12 specified on plan for the unit B deck was replaced with a 6x16. A revised connection detail (5/S9) has been provided to accommodate the revised beam sizes, see SK -16 (attached). 6. A cantilevered W10x17 steel beam in the third floor framing near the entry for unit A does not bear directly on the HSS3x3x1 14 column as intended. See SK -17 (attached) for required reinforcing for this area. The preceding items are approved to support design loads as installed unless noted otherwise.
