The meeting was called to order at 11:15 AM.
The first item on the agenda was a donation request from the Eagle County Down Payment Assistance Fund. In previous years the Housing Authority and the Town of Vail have both made donations.
The fund has become more critical to closings in the current lending environment. The Housing Authority would like to see the Town of Vail donate as well as them since buyers of Town
developments and Town employees both benefit from the loans. Following the discussion, Steve Lindstrom made a motion to authorize a donation of $15,000 to the Down Payment Assistance
Fund. Mark Ristow seconded the motion. There was no further discussion and the motion passed unanimously.
Staff provided an update on the Chamonix Neighborhood Development. The Housing Authority was generally in favor of the proposed changes to the road alignment and believed the ability
to phase the project with as few as two units at a time to be a positive improvement.
Staff provided a brief update on the proposed redevelopment of ½ of Timber Ridge. It was noted the developer expected to hear from HUD around the 1st of September at that should allow
the Town to have a more firm development schedule. The western half will remain operational during the construction and thereafter. The Housing Authority expressed concern about the
future of the western half of the property. They asked to review a copy of the pre-development agreement so they could better understand the deal.
There was no further business and the meeting was adjourned at 12:30 PM.
