Response Requested: 2000 S Colorado Blvd Yes _ No X Tower 2, Suite 2-500 Denver, Colorado 80222 Attention: Mr. Jim Waugh Sent Via: E-Mail Reference: Strata Vail RK Mechanical Project Number 4009 Subject: Mr. Waugh, This letter is being provided in order to confirm the discussions held during the 8.26.2016 courtesy inspection walk between Travis Ahrens (RK), Bud Davis (RK), and J.R. Mondragon (Town of Vail). During this walk RK and T.O.V reviewed the installation of the wall caps located on the roof of building B, as well as the IRH heaters currently installed at this location. The below summarizes the conditions of these installations and the direction for resolution: 1. Wall Caps: The contract drawings provide a note to locate the wall caps a minimum of 3' above the flat roof. The field conditions do not allow for this requirement to be met as the parapet wall limits the maximum elevation of the wall caps to be at 2', which is where they are currently installed. The wall caps are located in areas that will be monitored with snowmelt. As such, the T.O.V determined that the wall caps are at an acceptable elevation at 2' above the flat roof and no further action is required. Note that the parapet walls at Building A are higher and will allow for a 3'clearance for the wall caps. 2. IRH Heaters: It was discussed that the IRH heater vents are within the clearance of the attic relief at the ridge of the roof. Per T.O.V the IRH heater vents are to be extended to 3' higher than the roof ridge in order to achieve an acceptable clearance, which will apply to building A as well. We are available to discuss any comments or questions you may have concerning this matter. Sincerely, RK MECHANICAL, INC. Sean D.
