To the Vail Fire Department;
Attention: Mike Vaughan, Town of Vail Fire Marshal
I am writing this letter and request on behalf of the Brooktree board of directors. It
has come to my attention that our plan to upgrade our monitoring system has raised
some questions.
In our effort to be pro-active and forward thinking,we are set to replace all of the
dated `field units'with contemporary, addressable detectors. These new units
include smoke, temperature and carbon monoxide monitoring.
Regarding the panel upgrades; we will be replacing one panel with a new,
addressable unit, and upgrade a second monitoring panel, making that unit fully
addressable with the new field units.
We would respectfully ask that you allow us to proceed with this system upgrade. If,
upon further review,you decide that additional devices are required,we would of
course comply.
We have well exceeded initial budgetary numbers for this system upgrade, and hope
that you will understand and allow us to proceed with our plan 'as-is'. It would be
my estimation that we could plan for and budget for these additional requirements
with sufficient notice.
Management, and the board of directors, feel that our current system has exceeded
its useful life. We have concerns about the existing system and hardware, and
respectfully request that you allow us to make these system improvements.
