Re: Scope of Work for Fire Alarm System Alteration
Dear Mike,
The following is a scope of work to be performed for the conversion of the Holiday Inn to the
new Doubletree in West Vail. The scope of work will be today bring the remodeled area up to
NFPA standards adopted by Vail Fire. Work performed will be to remove all smoke detection
and bases during the remodel to prevent device contamination.
1st Floor Scope: All of the existing detection on this floor will be removed, except above the
fire panel and for elevator recall to match current IBC / IFC. All of the pull stations, water flow
and tamper devices will remain as installed. New control panel electronics will be replaced
with new UL 9th edition panels to accommodate new features and bring the system up to the
latest standards. The existing dialer will be replaced with a new IP communicator connected
to the Doubletree network for off site notifications. The existing annunciator will be relocated
and mounted behind the new check-in desk location. All notification devices will be replaced
with new ceiling mount devices. No work will be completed in the first floor tenant spaces or
the second floor tenant space.
2nd - 5th Floor: All of the existing notification devices and circuits will remain as installed.
All corridor detection will remain as currently installed, but removed for construction. Once
the room reconditioning has been completed new low frequency sounder bases will be
installed. The existing detectors will be re-installed in the new sounder bases and the
existing corridor detector base will be re-installed with the existing devices. The 4th -5th floor
unit living room detection will be replaced with new Combination Smoke/Heat/CO detectors to
provide detection for the fire places.

Once work has been completed and tested, CSWC will contact Vail Fire Department and
schedule a final fire alarm test of the new area.
